Art Students at Rye Primary School are actively engaged in many creative experiences. They are encouraged to express themselves freely as well as sharing and helping each other.
The studio art centre is a place of individual thinking and group participation. The use of every day objects coupled with a desire to create results in some amazing works of art.
Students are always reminded that great artists, past and present, were once children too. What made them stand out was and is a burning desire to create.
Rye Art Students are able to experience a wide range of activities through:
- Construction
- Drawing
- Painting
- Woodwork
- Sculpture
- 3D Claywork
- Printing
- Threads and Textiles
- Collage
- Creating using natural objects
- Montage
Students art work is displayed in the Student Gallery situated in the entrance of the school as well as along the hallway. Children take pride in their work and are always enthusiastic about coming to their art room.
It is natural for children to want to create and it is essential that this desire continues to burn.
